John Watson

Owner and operator of Watsons Motor World, John Watson is a dedicate business owner and family man. He was born and raised in Mornington and this is why his reputation is paramount. John not only loves cars, but is also a fully qualified mechanic. At Watson’s Motor World we have our own workshop, “having our own facilities and RWC licence allows us to be thorough and inspect all cars coming through the system”. John likes to make sure every vehicle that is advertised for sale is sold with confidence and in great condition.


John has over 20 years experience in the industry and is passionate about providing the best of the best customer satisfaction. John is a man of his word and never under delivers. At Watson’s Motor World we like to range a variety of vehicles and a diversity in prices to satisfy all customers needs. Being in the local area for such a long time we source cars for all our repeat customers, “so if we don’t currently stock what you want, we will make sure we find what you want”.


Watson’s Motor World is the oldest independent dealer on the Mornington Peninsula.

Yasmin Chandler

Yasmin started selling cars at the age of 17.

At 23 she bought and started her own dealership in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula. She was one of only 4 women in Australia with a Motor Car Dealers’ license.

Working in what was a very male dominated industry at the time, she embraced the many challenges of buying and selling, and grew to love and enjoy the industry.

When her children came along, she took a stint away to be closer to home and family, and help run a very successful business in the race horse industry.

Cars have always been in her blood, and it was something she yearned to come back to. Now, with decades of experience under her belt, she has seen the industry grow, change and develop into what it is today.

Yasmin, too, has grown and changed with time, and has learned to take a step far back from the cliched hard sell of the “used car salesman” and instead prioritise exceptional customer experience.

This means understanding the unique needs and preferences of each customer, and ensuring the service they get is flexible and accomodating to the individual.

The most important part of selling cars is the relationship you have with your clients. Yasmin takes great pride in making the experience of buying or selling a car a highly positive one.

She takes a non-pressuring approach, with one and only goal: to ensure that each person who either sells or buys a car walks away with all their needs met.
